From a Learning Center to Cadet College: Zahoor’s Journey (2025)

How one of SKF's first Rising Star scholars went from the Multan Learning Center to a Cadet College.

Zahoor’s family comes from a village in Jhang, Punjab. When hardship forced them to move to Multan, his mother found work as house help, and there was no money left for school.

The journey

  • 2019: Zahoor came to the SKF Learning Center with his sister, knowing only what his older siblings had taught him at home. Within two years he completed the class 3 syllabus.
  • September 2020: he passed the admission test for a reputed public school and joined grade 4 as one of SKF’s first two Rising Star scholars.
  • 2021: he won a Three Star Performance Badge in the International Kangaroo Science Contest, placing 2nd in his school, 3rd in Multan district and 7th of 1,864 students in Pakistan.
  • October 2024: SKF enrolled him at a cadet tutoring academy for six months of preparation for cadet school entrance exams.
  • April 2025: after passing the admission tests, medical tests and interviews, Zahoor began grade 8 at a Cadet College, a boarding school, and took a step closer to his dream of becoming an army officer.

His achievement is a reminder that talent knows no boundaries, and dreams are valid no matter where you come from.

Give a child the chance to learn

$250–$350 covers a child’s full year at an SKF Learning Center: teacher, books, uniform and a daily healthy snack.
