Mid-Year Report 2021: Learning Through the Pandemic
Vaccinations, a third anniversary, a renovated center with a projector for online learning, and nearly $20,000 raised in SKF's Ramadan drive.
The first half of 2021 was shaped by repeated COVID-19 closures in Punjab. SKF kept every child learning and every family supported.
Highlights
- New year, new kit: all 23 children received new uniforms, shoes, bags and stationery on 9 January.
- Health first: masks, sanitising and distancing when classes resumed on 9 February, and typhoid vaccinations for every child at the center on 16 February.
- Third anniversary (2 March): about 36 out-of-school children had been enrolled since 2018.
- Spring Sports Day and homework packs for every child during the March closures.
- Ramadan Drive: SKF launched online giving and raised nearly $20,000 with the help of matching programs. Food rations went to 22 SKF families in Multan and 10 families in Faisalabad district.
- Center renovation: painted alphabet and jungle-themed classrooms, new lights, bookshelves, toys, an air cooler, and a laptop and projector so children can join online lessons.
