Program 3 · Health & Hygiene
Better health, better future for all
Healthy bodies lead to healthy minds. We look after the health of our students and the women in their families.
The challenge
When health keeps girls out of school
In crowded neighbourhoods with weak water and sanitation, diseases like typhoid spread quickly. Many girls miss school every month because their families cannot afford sanitary products, and many children struggle in class because nobody has ever checked their eyesight.

What we do
Two programs under one roof
Female Hygiene Program
Since November 2022, girls, their mothers and female staff attend hygiene awareness sessions and receive two packs of sanitary pads every month. Girls in the program attend school more regularly and with more confidence.
Children’s health
Typhoid, polio, measles and rubella vaccinations through national drives, run at our centers, and a first-aid kit at every center.
Eye care
A volunteer eye specialist screens every student and staff member each year free of charge. SKF provides eyeglasses for those who need them.
