Mid-Year Report 2022: Top Results and Support for Families

A first-place finish for a Rising Star scholar, Ramadan food boxes for 31 households, a new teacher, and an ice-cream day for the mothers.

Highlights

  • New academic year (3 January): 21 returning children and one new student, all with new uniforms, sweaters, books and bags.
  • Learning made fun: Yellow Day, spring flower planting and a Colored Dress Fun Day after the first-term tests.
  • Rising Star results: Kamran earned an “A” in his grade 6 finals, and Hoor ul Ain came 1st in her class at a reputed girls’ public school. Her only wish as a reward was a burger.
  • Ramadan Food Boxes: 25 SKF families and 6 staff families received flour, rice, lentils, oil, dates and more. Each child labelled their family’s box in their own handwriting.
  • Ice Cream Day: mothers were invited as special guests before the summer break. One mother said: “May Allah bless this organization… helping our kids get the education we could not afford, and they think of us, the families, as well.”
  • Growing team: a new teacher, a university student, joined in March to meet growing demand.

Give a child the chance to learn

$250–$350 covers a child’s full year at an SKF Learning Center: teacher, books, uniform and a daily healthy snack.
